I’ve been mulling over ideas for writing every day for 31 days in October. The one idea that has followed close on my heels is to write about Church History – the people, the places, the happenings, and what it all has to do with us: the present-day Church.
I realize this may be a bit risky. I mean, how many people actually want to read about Church History every day? What if I get some bit of fact wrong? What if it all comes out boring…boring…BORING?
All I can keep going back to is my love of the subject matter. I love history, period. But Church History is especially dear to my heart. The Bible lays the foundation and Church History builds on that foundation. I enjoy learning about where faith traditions began, about my brothers and sisters who contributed and sacrificed so much for the faith, and on and on. I used to want to write curriculum covering Church History for Christian schools and homeschoolers because I felt that this aspect of history gets left out far more than it should.
Even though I can’t promise super interesting posts every day of October, I ask that you consider taking this journey with me – a journey into our spiritual past.
